Beer Buddha Koozies?

This past weekend the family and I flew out to Orlando to surprise my brother for his baby shower. Whenever I head out that way my dad likes to stock the fridge with some awesome beers I can't get here in New Orleans and man did he!

Dad's Garage Beer Fridge

Some of the beers we had:

  • Sculpin IPA and Amber
  • Six Point- pretty much all of them
  • Terrapin
  • Founders
  • Breckenridge
  • and of course Yuengling

Not only did we have an amazing selection of beer at the parents house but the baby shower was held at a bar called The Woods  This place was awesome and had a great selection.

On Sunday the bro, wife and I went out shooting which was awesome.  Did some pistol target practice then skeet shooting.  What an amazing stress relief.  It also got me thinking!

When I started thinking about the fun weekend my mind went to koozies.  Not sure why but it did.  I think perhaps it was because we didn't use a whole lot of glassware but rather took it easy and drank great beer out of the bottles and cans.  I was thinking it would be cool to have a Beer Buddha koozie to be drinking these beers with.

Then like a sign from the beer drinking Gods I was contacted by  http://www.expressimprint.com/ in regards to their custom koozie lines.

I would love to see the Beer Buddha logo on some awesome koozies what do you think?

Cheers!

PS And no we did not drink awesome craft beer while shooting guns.  That would be bad.

Who Would You Drink With?

The other day someone asked me if you could sit down and drink a beer with anyone alive or dead who would it be? It was a simple enough question but without a simple enough answer. One of the most important beers I have ever had was the first one I had with my dad. Hell, I remember the first beer that I ever had period. I was a sophomore in high school in Camp Lejeune, NC and it was a Colt 45 40oz with one of my best friends Randy Lenard. But I assume the question implied famous. No one wants to hear the sappy beer sharing stories.

I really started to think about this one. It can really have some fun answers. I decided it would be fun to come up with my top 10 famous people(dead or alive) that I would like to share a beer with. So in no particular order is my top 10.

1) Barack Obama- He is a sitting President. Like his politics or not it would be awesome. And most likely homebrewed.

2) Clint Eastwood- The man is a legend. Need I say more?

3) Steve McQueen- One of the coolest actors ever.

4) George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin- How cool would it be to sit and listen to these guys talk over some beers?

5) Elvis Presley- I can just imagine the kind of experience this would be. Beer, guns and pain pills. Whoa.

6) Hall & Oates- For me this would be epic.

7) Hope Solo- Ah, Hope Solo. I love you. That is all.

8) Kurt Russell- One of my all time favorite actors.

9) Harrison Ford- Drinking beer with Indiana Jones and Han Solo himself? Count me in.

10) Matthew Mcconaughey- My man crush is on this dude. He seems like a cool dude to drink a beer with.

Well, that's it. Who is on your list? I would love to hear so leave them in the comment section!

Cheers!

For those that didn't win you have two more chances. And let me give you some advice. The two people that won so far had a lot of entries each. A lot of you have only one or two where they had at least 5. Congrats Kyle! Email me your address and I'll get those tickets in the mail to you.

Have a Beery Hoppy Mother's Day

Behind every beer fanatical husband and dad is a woman who has to deal with all the crap. This Mother's Day I want to thank my wife who is the mother to my little girl, Evangeline. Without my wife The Beer Buddha wouldn't be possible. Here is a list of the top 10 beer related things my wife puts up with on a regular basis:

1) Me always on Beeradvocate.com.
2) Me always messing around on www.thebeerbuddha.com.
3) Me always saying, "Honey, I have to get that beer so I can review it on my website."
4) Me always planning beer trips for our vacation. I can always find something beer related no matter where we go. And also letting me buy tons of beer to bring back home.
5) Me always spending my Friday nights down at Avenue Pub. And she never complains.
6) Always letting me go to Beeradvocate events. And helping out when she is there.
7) Being my designated driver. ALL the time. She doesn't drink so of course she'll always be the DD.
8) Allowing me to follow my dream even when it changes or I get laid off or it doesn't pay a lot.
9) Allowing me to buy 5 different beer magazines in order for me to do "research". Let's see there is Beer Magazine(my personal favorite), Beeradvocate Magazine, Draft Magazine, All About Beer Magazine and Zymurgy Magazine.
10) Always trying every beer that I try even though she doesn't like the taste of beer.

So there you have it people. Make sure this Mother's Day you are thanking the mother of your child who is letting you get your beer on. Oh and of course I can't forget to say Happy Mother's Day to my mom. Without her giving birth to me The Beer Buddha wouldn't even be alive. So Mom, thanks for getting drunk and conceiving me.

Cheers!

PS I really don't think my mom was drunk but she could have been.
